The Rastafari Council of Ghana is organizing the first ever national Rastafari Conference in Ghana on March 2, 2016. The Conference is to deliberate on issues of interest to the Rastafari Community. Among other things, the Conference will review the progress of Rastafari in Ghana and Africa since the sixties, state efforts towards resettling Diaspora Africans and the work of repatriated brothers in sisters in Ghana and Africa. In addition to that the Conference will also work out a strategic plan for repatriation and also work out a plan of action for Rastafari in Ghana and Africa.

The Conference will also mark the seventh anniversary of the establishment of the Rastafari Council of Ghana and is expected to attract Rastafarians from Ghana and abroad.

Topics for discussion at the Conference will include the Current State of Resettlement Regulations; The Role of Repartriation in African Development and Global Developments in Rastafari.  Speakers lined up for the show include Kwesi Pratt Jnr who will deliver the keynote address, Shango Baku and Uncle Nash Laryea.

The Rastafari Council of Ghana was launched on March 2, 2009 at the International Press Centre in Accra by Dr Yaw Graham of Third World Network. The Council seeks to represent Rastafari on issues and dealings with various stakeholders. The Council is currently composed of Rastafari organizations in Ghana with and executive council made up of representatives of the various mansions of Rastafari in Ghana and individuals who have established a track record within the Rastafari community.
