OFORI AMPONSAH IS FAKE- OMANHENE POZOH
Ghanaian hiplife rapper Emmanuel Amponsah popularly known as Omanhene Pozoh has said former highlife musician now a pastor Ofori Amponsah is faking his supposed calling by God.
According to Omanhene, Ofori Amponsah after his last album released ‘flopped’ and did not do well that he could not resurface that was the reason he chose to go gospel and into ministry.
“If you release an album and it does not go well you don’t make of God. I cannot make fun of God like Ofori is doing, if I become a pastor it will be the work of God.”
He was commenting on a question which involves his parents being pastors and whether he will go into Ministering on BREEZE 90.9 FM NEWS @ 6pm it’s Friday segment called “WHERE ARE THEY” where artistes, actors, actresses, comedians and people who were in the limelight of the arts industry but are not seen frequently in recent times.
Then commenting on Lord Kenya’s situation, Omanhene said Lord Kenya is a genuine pastor.
“He I would say is a real pastor, his own case is a serious issue and I can say for a fact because I have pastors in my family”. Omanhene Pozoh was born Emmanuel Amponsah on the 5th of May in pig farm a suburb of Accra to the late Opoku Manu and Madam Dora Asantewaa both from Aburi in Eastern region of Ghana.
In his early years of schooling, Emmanuel attended a school call KPPS in Pig Farm and continued to K16 School in Kotobabi. He later went to West Africa Secondary School at Adenta.
Madam Dora, Omanhene Pozoh’s mother is a pastor and his father a soldier who later became a pastor. So there was no rap trace in the family until Omanhene created his empire.
After secondary school, Emmanuel Amponsah met Sydney n Joyti both artist and the formed the musical group called ‘Nananom’. They worked together for about 3 years recording hit songs like Wo kyre wohu, Awura adjoa, Ofie nii fie, and so on.
Omanhene Pozoh went solo in his music career in 1999 and has 6 albums to his credit. He has subsequently had a successful solo career, following a trend of reproducing old-school highlife hits which has given them the chance to work with greats like Awurama Badu, Alhaji K. Frimpong and C. K. Mann.
He loves football and supports Kotoko and Manchester city football clubs.
He is married to Madam Tracy Amponsah and they are blessed with Chichi 12, Manuela 10, Michael 7 and Asantewaa 4 as children.
