GN BANK AWARD WINNERS FINALLY RECEIVE AWARD PACKAGES
The award winners of the maiden edition of the GN Bank awards 2015 finally received their award packages on Tuesday, 5th May 2015 at the Coconut Groove Regency Hotel in Accra.
The GN Bank Awards Night organized by Spyder Lee Entertainment with support from GN Bank witnessed a massive turnout by Ghana’s top showbiz personalities and fans on March 21, 2015 at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC).
Award winners on the night were Shatta Wale, Gifty Osei, James Gardner, Juliet Ibrahim, Obroni Hiani (Sky Orange Productions, Nana Yaa Amoakoaa (Kids Icon), Mampi by Vybrant Faya, Asamoah Gyan (Black Stars captain), Baba Spirit (Rainbow Radio), Halifax Ansah Addo (News One), Bola Ray (Starr Drive – Starr FM), Akumaa Mama Zimbi (Odo Ahomaso – Adom FM), Kojo Frempong (Boys Boys – Viasat 1), Nana Yaa Brefo (Badwam – Adom TV), Bola Ray, M.T.N Ghana (Telecommunication), D.K Poison (Veteran Boxer).
The runners up in each category received a certificate of recognition and an investment package of GHS1,000 with the Gold Coast Fund Management. Winners of each category had a prize package worth GHS 5,000 (GHS3,500 cash, a treat for two at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel, Elmina and a certificate of recognition).
The biggest prize on the night was received by the Favorite Celebrity (Bola Ray of Starr FM) who received a cash amount of GHS 8,500, a treat for two at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel, Elmina and a certificate of recognition.
The winners were mostly represented by themselves with few been absent but represented by other people. Shatta Wale‘s father, Mr. Charles Mensah Snr represented his son as his manager amongst others.
Dignitaries’ who graced the event included Mr. and Mrs. Nduom, Kwesi Kyei Darkwah (KKD), CEO of GN Bank Mr. Patrick Anumel and all board members of the GN Bank awards.
BREEZE NEWS representative Ntewusu Philomina Lisa also got close to the youngest award winner who won the Child Star of the year category, Nana Yaa Amoakoaa (Kids Icon) to find out how she felt about the awards, she expressed her gratitude to GN Bank, the people who voted for her and said she was glad to be giving the prestigious award.
Then BREEZE NEWS spoke with the chairman of the board, Mr. Tony Annan Forson on their journey from the beginning of the awards, through to the last day of the maiden edition that was yesterday and their response to criticisms throughout. He said the board had a tough time throughout the awards but they always discussed issues when such time approached and got the work going.
Commenting on controversies about the awards he said there was no way one could satisfy everybody in this world even with a 100% work done and of course no one could do a 100% work. He prayed for success in the next edition since the maiden one was a huge success comparing it to other awards shows in the country.
