GHANA CELEBRATES CULTURE DAY 2016
The Ghana Culture Forum in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Art, National Commission on Culture and the National Theatre of Ghana celebrated the 4th anniversary of the Ghana culture day in grand style.
The occasion which was held on the 14th of March 2016 at the National Theatre was on the theme “Ghana culture on the move: the economic impact of arts and culture on national development”.
It saw patronize from all walks of life experiencing the three main sections of the one day celebration; from interactive forums on the place of culture in the 40 years national development plan, an emporium which featured the domains of culture and arts specifically in a kaleidoscope of displays and tributes to fallen icons of the art and culture industry.
The occasion was graced by Dr. Nii Moi Thompson (Director- General, National Development Planning Commission) as the guest of honor and main speak for the interactive forum, Hon. Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu Adjare (Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts), Professor Esi Sutherland-Addy (chairperson of Ghana culture forum), Akunu Dake (vice chairperson of Ghana culture forum), executives from the Musicians Union of Ghana, NAFTI, Ghana Actors Guild etc.
Side attractions included culinary exhibition, visual arts exhibition, film screening and presentation, exhibition of musical CDs, Ghanaian music and movie videos, literary and verbal arts, exhibition on Ghanaian heritage and so on.
